The Appleby Legal Scholarship Programme has been established since the inception of the Truman Bodden Law School in the early 1980’s to provide financial assistance to young Caymanians intending to pursue a career as a lawyer. In 2023 it was renamed The Liesl Richter Legal Scholarship Programme in memory of Corporate Partner and past recipient.
It provides funding for a law degree and subsequent post-graduate qualifying courses/examinations at the Truman Bodden Law School, or at an approved overseas university and is worth in excess of USD 100,000.
The Scholarship covers tuition fees, examination fees and textbook costs. All recipients are also provided with a living allowance of USD 2,400 per month and four weeks’ work experience each summer in one of our Practice Groups; Corporate, Dispute Resolution, Private Client & Trusts and Real Estate.

This Internship provides hands-on experience in Corporate Administration, Onboarding and Private Wealth Management, allowing interns to gain practical skills and insight into Bermuda’s corporate services landscape. Interns will assist with various administrative tasks, support client service operations, and work closely with experienced professionals, providing them with an opportunity to learn and grow in a professional environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in maintaining accurate records of corporate entities, including updating statutory and compliance information
- Organize and manage physical and electronic files, ensuring documents are properly stored and accessible.
- Prepare documentation and assist with filing requirements as per Bermuda’s regulatory standards.
- Support Corporate Administrators in responding to client inquiries and managing client documentation.
- Assist with preparing and sending regular client updates and communications.
- Help draft minutes, resolutions, and other corporate documents under the guidance of senior team members
- Participate in tasks related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, including due diligence checks and data gathering.
- Support the maintenance of compliance records in alignment with Bermuda regulatory requirements.
- Help update internal records and checklists to ensure compliance with regulatory filings.
- Conduct research on regulatory developments and industry best practices.
- Assist with special projects as needed, including reporting and analysis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Must have completed one year of a recognized undergraduate degree or equivalent.
