Principal duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Handling a diverse range of residential, commercial and general property transactions.
• Reviewing and preparing conveyances, leases, mortgages, security documents and other deeds and documents of a novel nature
• Keeping up to date with developments within Bermuda’s property market, related legislation and local customs and procedures
• Contribute to marketing efforts through writing articles for industry publications, speaking at conferences and attending overseas business development trips
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Must have a high level of competence within the scope of Property practice areas
• Minimum of at least eight years of post qualification experience in the property practice area
• Strong skills in and specialised knowledge of the Property practice area
• Developed analytical drafting and negotiating skills
• Proven skills in practice management, client development, marketing and relationship management
• A demonstrated ability to establish priorities, organise and delegate work assignments
• Advocacy and trial preparation experience
• Prior experience and proven ability to manage junior lawyers and contribute to management of the Firm
• Knowledge and experience with discovery, including e-Discovery Systems
Are you a current Bermuda law student pursuing an undergraduate or post-graduate law degree and interested in gaining meaningful internship experience at Bermuda’s leading law firm?
We are currently accepting applications for our 2026 Summer Internship Programme which will take place 17 June – 14 August. The 2026 programme has been designed for students to rotate every two weeks to ensure learning across multiple sectors and specialisms. Interns will work alongside our world-class team of lawyers in the Corporate, Insurance and Dispute Resolution departments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform complicated legal work under the supervision of an attorney
- Research and write memoranda
- Perform administrative duties such as filing
- Assist with preparation for trials, hearings, and client meetings.
- Attend trials, hearings, and client meetings.
- Research legislative histories
- Prepare and organize files and binders
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must have completed second year of a recognized law degree or equivalent
- Experience in a law firm will be considered an asset
- Must possess strong research, writing and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Attention to detail and strong time management skills required
