The Associate Director - Operations will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the operational functions within Appleby Global Services. This individual will be responsible for monitoring day-to-day activities, implementing process improvements, and ensuring the efficient delivery of services to our clients and colleagues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leadership:
• Oversee the company’s Finances and Business Plan. In particular focuses on developing and cultivating a target-based organisational structure, based on agreed KPIs and company objectives.
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the front and back office teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Develop and execute operational plans that align with the company’s objectives and contribute to overall growth and profitability.
• Be an active member of the Board of Directors of the Regulated Entitiesas well as Chair the Finance and Operations Committee, including decision making regarding its agenda items and composition.
• Foster a good working relationship with the Bermuda Monetary Authority and the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
2. Process Optimisation:
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement streamlined operational procedures to enhance efficiency in accordance with the Risk Appetite of the Company
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and ensure the highest quality of service delivery.
• Coordinate critical processes for AGS Bermuda including Business Planning, Governance Calendar, Billing and Cash collection.
• Undertake projects under the direction of the Chairman of the Board of Appleby Global Services Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd
• Monitor and ensure that all Corporate Governance deadlines for AGS Bermuda and its clients are met timely and efficiently
• Work closely with the Finance, IT and HR departments to sponsor and monitor client service optimisation projects
3. Client Relationship Management:
• Act as a Director and/or Alternate Director on client Boards.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and expectations, ensuring that operational processes are aligned with client requirements.
• Act as a point of contact for escalated client issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure that operational activities comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, keeping abreast of changes in regulatory frameworks.
5. Team Development:
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team.
• Foster a positive work environment, delivering - and promoting - professional development and employee engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• An Accounting Qualification (ACCA/CPA/CA) and at least 7 years’ experience in a senior role.
• A qualification in Risk Management or quantitative related field is highly desirable.
• Proven experience in a senior role. This position would suit candidates from a management position in a client operations role within an Insurance Manager, Reinsurance, Audit, Consulting or fiduciary company.
• Excellent leadership, management, communication and organisational skills with a track record of driving operational excellence.
