Regulatory Services Officer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide AEOI registration services – IRS GIIN and local portals
  • Record and maintain client classifications and registration details including preparing W Tax forms and Self-Certification forms
  • Record, verify and maintain AEOI classification data for accountholders of clients
  • Request, review and submit annual AEOI reporting data on behalf of clients
  • Request and collect data, forms and documents for Economic Substance Notifications and Returns
  • Accept and fulfill appointments as AMLCO, MLRO, and/or DMLRO for client entities, ensuring compliance with applicable AML/CFT/PF obligations
  • Stay abreast of industry updates and changes to laws and guidance and advise the client Board and/or senior management on AML/CFT/PF compliance issues and changes in local legislative and regulatory developments
  • Collect and analyze client regulatory and compliance data for periodic and annual reporting; attend and present at board meetings as required
  • Manage day to day communications with the relevant competent authorities, administrators and auditors
  • Maintain client compliance logs including those with respect to controllers, senior management, breaches, complaints, clients, regulatory returns and requests from relevant competent authorities
  • Ensure all regulatory filings and ad hoc notifications/requests are being managed and filed in a timely manner
  • Liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders in relation to the collection and processing of client due diligence and related compliance matters
  • Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by the Regulatory Services Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least 3 years’ experience working in a compliance and/or regulatory role
  • University graduate with a solid understanding of Cayman Islands AML obligations and the roles of AML Compliance Officers and Money Laundering Reporting Officers along with a recognized compliance qualification, e.g. ACAMS or ICA
  • General knowledge and understanding of AEOI and FATCA/CRS filing requirements and Economic Substance Notification and Return filing requirements would be an asset
  • Prior experience as a Compliance Officer and engaging directly with boards and regulators would be advantageous
  • The position requires attention to detail and good time management skills as well as a high degree of integrity and a proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically MS Excel. Knowledge of iManage and ViewPoint would be an asset
  • Must have the ability to learn quickly and work well with a team as well as independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound organizational skills and ability to work under time pressure and extended work hours when required
  • A strong sense of commitment and responsibility

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Starting salary for this position is US$80,000 per annum plus benefits.
