Paralegal - Investment Funds

Key Responsibilities
- Fund Formation & Registration Support: Assist the legal team in preparing, drafting, and conducting initial reviews of formation and registration documents for various offshore investment funds (including mutual funds, private equity funds, and digital asset funds). This includes drafting constitutional documents, partnership agreements, subscription materials, and shareholder/board resolutions.
- Offshore Entity Management: Act as the key liaison with offshore government authorities in the Cayman Islands and BVI, registered agents, and the internal Appleby Global Services (AGS) team. Efficiently handle the full suite of corporate secretarial procedures, including fund setup, structural maintenance, annual filings, audit assistance, and de-registration.
- Compliance & Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML): Assist in collecting, organizing, and conducting initial reviews of Know-Your-Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance documentation for fund management entities, General Partners (GPs), and fund investors to ensure strict adherence to the latest offshore regulatory standards.
Key Qualifications
- Educational Background: Holder of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Laws (LLM), or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable domestic or overseas law school.
- Work Experience: 1 to 3 years of full-time experience within the investment funds, corporate, or banking & finance practice groups of a recognized international firm, top-tier domestic Red Chip firm, or leading offshore law firm. Exceptional fresh graduates will also be considered.
- Language Proficiency: High-level fluency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin is mandatory. Must be capable of utilizing both languages comfortably as primary working tools, with strong skills in legal translation and proofreading.
- Professional Attributes: Exceptionally detail-oriented, highly responsible, and equipped with excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities. Able to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Work Visa: Must hold a valid Hong Kong work visa, or be fully eligible to apply for a visa under the Top Talent Pass Scheme (TTPS).
